Debut CD of the composer and violinist Igor Loboda
from Heike Haberl
He himself calls it “music with hope”: violinist Igor Loboda presented his own compositions with pianist Masha Dimitrieva as part of WednesdayKlassik, which will also soon be released on CD.
From a purely artistic point of view, the pandemic was a wonderful time for Igor Loboda. For in the two Corona years, the Georgian violinist, long known not only in Ingolstadt as the “devil’s violinist,” found ample leisure for composing. Thus, among others, a symphony, a quartet, a trio – or the Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano were written. An imposing, highly demanding work, he recorded it with pianist Masha Dimitrieva for his forthcoming debut CD.
The two musicians presented a cross-section from this album “Igor Loboda – Works for Violin and Piano” to the public for the first time a few weeks ago at their performance in the “MittwochKlassik” series in the Harderbastei.
With this program they will also guest next Thursday, April 28 at 8:30 p.m. in Ingolstadt’s Altstadttheater. Tickets are available at the e-mail address kontakt@altstadttheater.de and at the box office.
